Over at SEO by the Sea, Bill Slawski keeps us updated about, among other things, search patents. So, of course, he posts Larry Page’s now famous:
Improved Text Searching in Hypertext Systems
In that application, Larry Page demonstrates how he can yield better search results. He uses some example queries (i.e. university, weather, Jeffrey Ullman).
That was back in 1997. I thought it might be interesting to see some of the BackRub results from then, next to some Google results for the same queries today. Let’s have a look.
